About Rí Rá

Rí Rá comes from "Rí Rá agus Ruaile Buaile", a phrase translating roughly as divilment, good fun or any sociable activity that improves with fine food, a nice pint of Guinness or dram of Uisce Beatha (whiskey).

About the pub

Meticulously restored in Ireland and shipped to the US, Rí Rá embodies everything that you would expect from a genuine Irish pub.

The bar has been carefully restored from old Irish pubs and related salvaged artefacts including the magnificent mid 19th century bar complete with Victorian snugs and the parquet floor from the Harland & Wolff yard where the Titanic was built. The pub required a tremendous effort from numerous Irish craftsmen to complete the restoration of the key pieces. The pub took over two years and 11,000 hours to finish. A total of 40 tons were shipped from Ireland including an estimated 10,000 pieces for the Harland & Wolff floor that was restored in Wicklow and reconstructed on site in Midtown Atlanta.

The Harbour Bar & Library

Stepping through the door at Rí Rá is like being transported to another era; immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the beautifully restored bar and the old pub shop storefront in the dining room, which dates back to 1784.
Pass through the dining room to see the best private party room in Midtown. Rí Rá’s private party room is literally a unique, miniature Irish pub, The Harbour Bar from Portstewart, County Derry. It was carefully transported and re-erected onsite in Atlanta and is now available for private parties. The Harbour Bar even has its own separate entrance to the street. We can accommodate private parties of up to 120 people.

A real Irish Local

Commonly referred to as ‘The Local’, the pub is at the heart of every community in Ireland. We like to think that RiRá is the Irish Local in Atlanta, our adopted home. Whilst we are Irish in every way – from our accents and famous sense of fun to our world renowned hospitality – we are very much at the heart of the Atlanta community.

Atlanta & Ireland

Atlanta has significant ties to Ireland for many generations producing prominent people of notable accomplishments. Some of these include; Businessman Asa Chandler of Coca-Cola, Authors Margaret Mitchell & Mary Flannery, and Father Thomas O’Reilly who served as pastor of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception during the Civil War and is credited with arranging to save the downtown churches and Atlanta’s city hall from the torch of General William T. Sherman.

Rí Rá in the Community

Here at Rí Rá, we love to bring our sense of family to the community and enjoy being involved with local community groups such as the Midtown Alliance to make our neighborhood a better place to live, work and socialize.

We are particularly proud of our outreach work with sports groups such as The Atlanta Renegades R.F.C. (Rugby Union) and Clan na Gael G.A.A. (Gaelic Hurling & Football). We are also heavily involved with local charities and try to give back to the community that so graciously welcomed us to the neighborhood. We host an annual golf tournament in aid of Camp Twin Lakes children’s charity and also host an annual event in March for the Saint Baldrick’s Foundation for Childhood Cancer and have to date raised over $1,000,000.

General Manager

Ryan Costello

I remember my first time in the Atlanta pub. It was the grand opening and my barman Cyril was amazing! I had never had an Irish Coffee before and it was outstanding! I was a fan out of the gate and fell in love with the Irish Pub experience.

3 years later I was asked to join the Ri Ra Atlanta team and the rest is history. I have worked at 2 of our other locations over the past 7 years and value the team members I have met across the country. I am thrilled to be back in Atlanta as this is my home and am looking forward to what the future holds.
