{"id":2247,"date":"2016-09-02T23:57:05","date_gmt":"2016-09-02T23:57:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rira.compub.com\/las-vegas\/?p=2247"},"modified":"2016-10-12T12:15:18","modified_gmt":"2016-10-12T12:15:18","slug":"shaving-heads-saving-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rira.com\/las-vegas\/pub-talk\/shaving-heads-saving-lives\/","title":{"rendered":"Shaving Heads and Saving Lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, March 12, 2016, we hosted our fifth annual St. Baldrick\u2019s Foundation signature head-shaving event \u00a0to raise money for the national organization funding research to find cure for all childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.<\/p>\n<p>Starting at noon, registered attendees shed their locks to support the fight against childhood cancers. Volunteers raised funds for St. Baldrick\u2019s by soliciting donations from friends, family and anyone interested in contributing to the cause. Throughout the day, local barbers volunteered their time to give the haircuts.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last four years, R\u00ed R\u00e1 has raised more than $76,000 for the St. Baldrick\u2019s Foundation and lifesaving childhood cancer research.<\/p>\n<h4>About St. Baldrick\u2019s Foundation<\/h4>\n<p>As the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick\u2019s\u00a0Foundation believes that kids are special and deserve to be treated that way.
