From Fish Factory to Portland’s Local

Erin Ovalle from MaineLife, an online lifestyle show featuring all things Maine, spent a sunny Summer’s day in July with owners David and Ciaran and some members of the very talented Rí Rá team talking about Rí Rá Portland, from its beginnings to where it is now.

18 years ago the lads decided to open a pub in Portland, a city that was far from being named Bon Appetite’s “Restaurant City of the Year”. But the working waterfront was exactly where Rí Rá would sink its pilings into the community and hearts of Portlanders and become their “local”.
